Inspiring Books
One way to do this is by reading books by the many great thought leaders who share their knowledge and experiences to help others learn and grow.
You can purchase your books or get them from your local digital library. Apply for your library card and then borrow books on loan for a period of 7-14 days.
Renting books from the library is a great way to simplify the number of books you own.
If you really love the book you can purchase a copy when you finish. Another option is the audio version which can be found on youtube too.
New To The Reading List
Here are the most recent books I’ve read and my thoughts.
Believe it or not, I did read them or get halfway through this list.
I just around depending on what I’m called to and when the book expires from the library so some I have to finish.
26. A New Earth
This was by far the BEST read ever! Eckhart Tolle breaks down life, religion, personalities, pain bodies, the ego, and more in such an understandable way.
I listened to the audiobook and have to say the last half hour was life-changing. He explained a few things in the bible that have totally been misinterpreted and what they really mean.
Have a listen and let me know your thoughts.
27. Evolve Your Brain
A very intense read for me. I literally had to skip some pages because it was very scientific. Not in a bad way but very in-depth.
Like there were images of the brain, the parts, and the functions. The book explains in depth how we have evolved into the species we are.
The concept I read today was that 50% of our personality and the other 50% from our environment/ parents/ tribes.
Explains a lot right! So to break the habit of the 50% that is learned is the answer to getting to the next level!
It’s so much work but as the saying goes the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.
I’ll update you when I finish this one.
28. Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself
I was about two-thirds into this book when the library loan ran out. So far it was amazing. Dr. Dispenza explains the methods we can use to change ourselves and the power of meditation.
When the loan is renewed I am up to the meditation part which is exciting. I have been doing the youtube meditations twice a day so I’m excited to hear his explanation.
I’ll let you know when I finish more thoughts.
29. You Are the Placebo: Making Your Mind Matter
This book is about the power of the mind. In the book, there is story after story of patients and how their thoughts became their reality.
If a patient thought he would live they were able to think their way to health. If they thought they would not get better they didn’t.
It also talked about patients getting a sugar “placebo” drug and healing because they thought they were given medicine. Very powerful stuff in this one.
I’m about halfway through this read but will get back to it and share more thoughts.
yes reading all three of these at the same time. As I said I jump around based on how I’m called. Dr. Joe Dispenza is all about the mind and how we can change it to become our best selves.
In case you haven’t noticed I’m all about getting to the next level these days.
31. The Artist’s Way
I made it halfway through this loan from the library. When it ran out I purchased it because there are lessons in the book and the fourteen-day loan is not long enough.
At one point in the weekly exercises, you have to detox from all reading of anything. The purpose is so you can get inside your own head and hear your inner voice.
This one is a must-have for any creative.
The book also goes into the importance of daily pages or journaling with is a powerful way to dump your thoughts on the page before you start your day.
I highly recommend this read to everyone looking to find their true creative purpose.
32. The Feng Shui of Abundance
Since I am all about good vibes and energy this book was perfect for me. It explains many of the principles of Feng Shui and how to bring abundance to your life.
I have done the penny gratitude exercise in my wealth corner since reading the book. This is another I purchased when the loan ran out because I want to do the exercises.
This is a great read to understand the different areas of your home and how they affect your abundance of energy.
32. Personality Isn’t Permanent
This book was so good I cried while reading it and bought a copy for my son. Another great read by a phycologist who explains how we are addicted to our habits and stories.
He talks about how you should always strive to be your future self and to get out of the past. This one is great for unlocking your purpose and what you are driven to become.
I am loving all the phycologist reads these days.
33. Lessons: My Path to a Meaningful Life
Personally, I have enjoyed reading this book. In it, Gisele shares how she evolved into the person she is today. How she found her true purpose, her daily routine, her family life, and lessons learned.
I really admire the powerful guided woman she is and can’t wait to finish reading her story.
I have about half to go on this read.
One this to add is the key to becoming awakened is meditation. If you do the research you will find the smartest most successful leaders in the world all have a morning routine and meditation practice.
It is such a powerful tool for hearing your inner voice.
Just saying!
More Awesome Books
17. Napoleon Hill’s Keys to Success
This is the cliff note read of the famous Napoleon Hill book. If you are looking for a quick explanation get this book.
You will learn about the importance of finding a mastermind group, becoming so focused nothing can distract you, and putting in the work.
This book is recommended by all the most successful business leaders.
18. Traffic Secrets: The Underground Playbook for Filling Your Websites and Funnels with Your Dream Customers
This book will give you the tools to understand all the different social media platforms. Russell Brunson clearly explains the history and purpose of the different apps.
He teaches you how to use the platform to grow your business and not be the user.
Since reading this book I have detached as a user of the platform and followed my dream 100 so I can learn from their example.
Remember “success leaves clues” it’s our job to find them.
Traffic Secrets was written to help you get your message out to the world about your products and services. One of the books you need to attract your ideal client to your website and social channels.
19. Unshakeable: Your Financial Freedom Playbook
This book is the follow up to MONEY Master the Game: 7 Simple Steps to Financial Freedom. It will teach you the mindset of successful investors.
If you are looking to fully understand how to diversify read the very long Master the Gamebook.
Trust me it is worth the read or listen.
20. The Four Agreements: A Practical Guide to Personal Freedom
This book teaches the concept that you need to stop caring what others think and become aware of your thoughts. It is all about going within so you can hear your own inner voice.
This is a must-have read for all!
21. The Practice
I made it halfway through before the library loan ran out on my audiobook.
This book teaches you that there is no short cut just hard work. Everyday baby steps. I have learned repeatedly this lesson. Every time I try to take the quick easy way it freaking bites me in the ass.
The struggle is real my friends!
22. Principles: Life and Work
I have decided that Ray Dalio is my long-lost father figure. He shares his life’s lessons in this book after many years of success.
After reading Money Master The Game was Ray Dalio’s all-weather portfolio that I applied to my investment strategy.
I must say in the past year it has made over 10K so, in my opinion, he knows what he is doing.
23. Buy Yourself the F*cking Lilies
This was a great read. In this book, Tara explains how her childhood affected her personality and how she had to reparent herself.
Having gone through a similar childhood I found this book very helpful.
She also mentioned reading the Artist Way and applying the morning pages. Tara found them to be super helpful in her healing journey as well.
One of the best books you need to heal yourself and be awesome!
I also realized from hearing her story that you can self-heal yourself and that years of “talk therapy” is not the answer.
The only way to heal is to become conscious and put in the work DAILY!
It’s so much work I KNOW!
I am right there with you my friends.
24. Badass Habits: Cultivate the Awareness, Boundaries, and Daily Upgrades You Need to Make Them Stick
Having read ALL the other books in the Badass series I had to read this one. As always it was amazing. Jen Sincero is awesome at giving you the tools you need to create new daily habits.
Another book I had to buy because you have to do the exercises over the course of 21 days so the fourteen-day loan wasn’t cutting it.
This one is a must-have for anyone looking to create a new daily habit.
One of the books you need to read more than once! It’s really that good.
25. A Course in Miracles Made Easy: Mastering the Journey from Fear to Love
I heard so much about A Course in Miracles I had to read this book. It is the simple version of the real deal.
A great read that is super easy to digest and understand.
This is an awesome book to work past your limiting beliefs and past stories.
In case you haven’t noticed by now those damn limiting beliefs and past stories are what you need to release.
As that saying goes “Let go of all that no longer serves you!”

1. Daring Greatly: How the Courage to Be Vulnerable Transforms the Way We Live, Love, Parent, and Lead
I enjoyed this book so much that I bought it as a gift for others. This is a must-read for anyone looking to be the best version of themself.
It teaches you that it’s ok to be vulnerable and share your feelings. Growing up feeling that others did not care to hear about my feelings was very powerful for me.
It’s an everyday process of learning how to express what I am feeling with thought and NOT from a place of being defensive.
The need to truly be heard for who you are is more important than the amount of time you spend with others in my opinion.
2. The Art of Fear: Why Conquering Fear Won’t Work and What to Do Instead
An amazing book that I first heard about on Gabby Reece’s podcast episode with Kristen Ulmer.
Having raised two athletes it’s always fascinating to hear about drive and discipline from the perspective of elite athletes. Such an excellent read. The exercises are perfect to help with your personal growth.
Fear can hold my hand as I go through life but will not stop me from moving forward. I will be reading this a second time because it was truly that good!
3. Do Less: A Revolutionary Approach to Time and Energy Management for Ambitious Women
Kate Northrup describes how by actually doing less you can do more. This book is perfect, especially for those who multi-task (as I have always done).
She teaches a formula to be more efficient and make the most of your day. She also explains how women run on a MONTHLY cycle which is based on their menstruation NOT weekly like men.
Game changer for understanding those moods of the month!
4. Capital Gaines: Smart Things I Learned Doing Stupid Stuff
I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from this book but I have to say it was very inspirational. I have always been a big fan of Fixer Upper. We even visited Magnolia Market in Waco, Texas when Bella was visiting Baylor University.
I truly admire Chip and Joanna Gaines and read both of their books now. One thing that is clear from these two is they live in the present moment, are intense, take risks, and do not live in fear. I aspire to be like them!
5. I Am Enough: Mark Your Mirror And Change Your Life
This book taught me to really be aware of the stories I tell myself and what I think in my own head.
We must remember that our words become our reality so it is very important that we are positive, encouraging, supportive, and kind to ourselves.
We must always remember “I am Enough” regardless of our beliefs, religion, career, or anything else.
One of the books you need to know you are enough despite what you have been told your entire life.
6. Judgment Detox: Release the Beliefs That Hold You Back from Living A Better Life
This was a game-changer for me. For several weeks I kept a journal of why I was judging a person and what from my past was triggering me.
It was very powerful because as they say when you judge or dislike another person it’s because you see something in them you want or dislike about yourself. I
know I didn’t think it was true either until I did the exercises in the book. Try it and let me know how it goes.
One of the books you need to stop judging others. It is said we judge because the person has something we want. Be careful my friends.
7. The Ultimate Retirement Guide for 50+: Winning Strategies to Make Your Money Last a Lifetime
I have always looked to Suzy Orman as an authority for investing and money in general.
Since I am 45 I took this book out from the library to start preparing for my future. Five years will go by quickly so better to start early than not at all!
One of the books you need to get your finances in shape.
8. Rich Dad’s Cashflow Quadrant: Guide to Financial Freedom by Robert Kiyosaki
This book was so good that my husband even listened to the audiobook! This will change the way you think about taxes, and teach you ways to maximize your investments and earnings.
The board game is definitely on the Christmas List this year! Move over Monopoly there is a new game in town lol.
9. MONEY Master the Game: 7 Simple Steps to Financial Freedom
This audiobook is LONG. Like 12 hours long but it is packed full of information about how to diversify your investments from the leaders in the financial industry.
It explains the strategies of investing for the long term and the importance of diversifying.
We want low-cost index funds as opposed to high-cost mutual funds(where I was invested in the past). Now I make my own decisions and educate myself on what’s best for my future.
You know what they say… Applied Knowledge Is Power!
One of the books you need to become financially free!
10. The Universe Has Your Back: Transform Fear to Faith
Understanding that there is a power guiding us that is bigger than ourselves was an area of spiritual growth for me. This has nothing to do with religion but more with the knowledge that we are all being guided and must follow our OWN intuition.
There is no cookie-cutter way of being despite what many people think. We all have the right to be guided in the direction that is best for us NOT because someone else is claiming it to be the “truth”.
Know that what is the “truth” for you does not have to be my “truth”. I get to decide the same way you made that decision for yourself.
One of the books you need so you know there is a higher power guiding you always.
11. Dodging Energy Vampires: An Empath’s Guide to Evading Relationships That Drain You and Restoring Your Health and Power
If you have draining people in your life “energy vampires” this is for YOU! It is by the mother of Kate Northrup the author of the Do Less book.
I would not say I am highly sensitive but I do look at life through rose-colored glasses and have felt the negative effect of energy vampires.
Since I am all about protecting my energy these days this book was super helpful in learning how to set boundaries.
This is something I work on daily. It is all about controlling your reactions to others. The only this we can change is ourselves and there is no need to defend, justify, or be compared.
One of the books you need to cut out the energy vampires in your life.
12. Living with the Monks: What Turning Off My Phone Taught Me about Happiness, Gratitude, and Focus
This one I am almost done with. I discovered Jesse after following Sara Blakely who is married to Jesse. The two of them are so inspirational and down to earth.
There are so many lessons throughout this book in the power of presence. I am still working on this but this book was definitely a game-changer in my growth.
One of the most powerful things Jesse said is you can read all about The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People but if you don’t take action on what you read you won’t see a change. This is so true my friends!
Here is a clip of Sara Blakely and Jesse Itzler in an interview. Love them both!
13. Excuses Begone!
If you are one to have an excuse for why you can’t do something OR if you have a family FULL of limiting beliefs this book is so helpful.
It will basically teach you that your limiting beliefs are just stories in your head that are not even true.
So if you basically stop thinking about what could go wrong and take action the world is full of endless possibilities. Sometimes we are just scared to believe in ourselves. Very powerful book.
Side Note Sara Blakely listened to Wayne Dyer over and over again. She even memorized his one series “How to be a no-limit person” all 10 cassette tapes front and back.
One of the books you need so you remember your only limit is yourself.
14. The Vortex: Where the Law of Attraction Assembles All Cooperative Relationships
This is another awesome book, especially for anyone familiar with the secret. It speaks about the lesson that you attract what you focus on.
Self-development is a daily practice. It does not come from reading one book or hearing one inspirational talk. It is not about throwing up quotes but about actually putting in the hard work to be the best version of yourself.
I am definitely a work in progress but I am putting the work in.
One of the books you need to stay focused on your authentic self and purpose.
15. The Total Money Makeover: Classic Edition: A Proven Plan for Financial Fitness
The method this book teaches is perfect for anyone looking to get to the next level with their finances.
My family has always called me cheap and frugal which is so far from the truth. Clearly, they don’t know me. If I see a beautiful piece of furniture, lighting, or faucet I will pay top dollar.
After trying to find it for the best price. The funny thing I learned while working in a furniture store is that those who have the money ask and expect a deal.
In contrast, those who don’t have it or worked hard to get it almost see overpaying as a status that they’ve arrived at. It was an eye-opening experience working there.
First I listened to the audiobook of this and then I took out the book from the library to read. This book was so good I got the free version but bought my son the physical book.
The other this I learn as I work on my limiting beliefs is that unfortunately many have been passed down to my kids. At this point, all I can do is let them know it’s something I may have passed to them but I can’t fix it for them My window of influencing their conscious self was up till seven years old so I’m way past that!
16. The Fearless Money Mindset: Broke Doesn’t Scare Me
I LOVED this book so much that I plan to read it again. It was not cheap but I purchased it for $25 and it was well worth it. I first discovered Arian Simone on the Marie Forleo podcast.
It was such an amazing inspirational interview that I purchased the book right after. Trust me… watch the video and read the book. You will be so glad you did!
One of the books you need to break through the money stories that hold you back.
The underlying message from most of these books is all about MINDSET and mastering your THOUGHTS.
Again I am working on this DAILY because it is so easy to slip back into your old way of thinking. My hope is that with my growth and improvement, I can inspire and influence my kids to be their best selves. If I can help others in the process that is just a bonus!
Hope this was helpful to you!
Have an awesome day full of Unicorns & Rainbows!
xo Nicole
