Over the past month, I’ve shared decorating ideas from Pottery Barn, West Elm, Crate & Barrel, Arhaus, and Lulu and Georgia. The pieces from these stores are gorgeous, but let’s be real, the price tags can be a bit much.
That’s why I’m taking you inside HomeGoods to shop the looks for less today. I’ll show you exactly what I found that gives you the same elevated feel without the cost.
And stick around until the end because I spotted a piece that looks almost identical to one from Pottery Barn and Arhaus for a fraction of the price.

1. Decor Accents (Vases & Boxes)
Let’s start with the small details because sometimes it’s the finishing touches that make your home look the most expensive.
At HomeGoods, I found vases in all shapes and sizes, most ranging from $20–$40. One of my favorites was a piece that looked just like a Lulu and Georgia vase that sells for $94 but here, it was only $40. Style it with faux branches on a console, coffee table, or even a pedestal table in an empty corner for that high-end look.
Burlwood decorative boxes were another great find. They’re practical for hiding remotes on a coffee table or keys on an entryway console, while also adding beautiful natural texture.
And don’t forget to check the book section. You might stumble on a designer coffee table book like Made for Living by Amber Lewis.
Even if the price is similar to online, there’s something special about flipping through it in person for inspiration. Coffee table books are a designer staple and always look amazing styled with decor.
2. Kitchen Decor
HomeGoods home decor is full of kitchen treasures that give you that designer look without the price tag.
Gold accents are trending big right now, and one of the best finds I saw was a marble-and-gold paper towel holder for just $13. Compare that to a nearly identical version at Lulu and Georgia for $98. Such a steal that when I went back two days later, it was already gone!
Another home must-have is the marble and wood riser. You’ve probably seen these all over Instagram coffee stations and styled bathrooms.
They usually sell for around $40, but I spotted them at HomeGoods for under $10. Yes, under ten dollars. These instantly elevate your counters and give you that layered, curated look that designers love.
3. Lighting Ideas
Lighting really is the jewelry of the room, and HomeGoods home decor always surprises me in this category.
I found a scallop-edge picture light for $50, which is almost identical to the McGee & Co. version that sells for over $400. Talk about a budget-friendly swap!
There were also rattan-and-gold sconces that looked just like a $230 Regina Andrew version, but for a fraction of the cost. Another standout was a green lamp with a pleated printed shade, super on trend for $130. Lulu and Georgia has a similar lamp with a gold base for $198, and it’s actually smaller.
And one of my favorite finds? A $50 bookend lamp. It reminded me of the marble-and-gold Target home version, but with a printed velvet book cover that felt more traditional.
4. Oversized Mirrors
Oversized mirrors instantly make your home feel larger and more expensive, and HomeGoods had some amazing options.
For around $250, you can score a look for less of the popular gold ornate mirrors that usually sell for $1,000 or more. My favorite find was a 48×72 arch floor mirror for just $129. High-end versions of that size can run anywhere from $800 to $1,600.
That’s such a huge savings. And honestly, even if you had the budget, would you really want to spend that much more? Mirrors give your home scale and drama, but to keep it cozy, you’ll want to layer in soft textiles.
5. Pillows & Throws
When it comes to HomeGoods home decor, pillows and throws are the easiest way to refresh your color palette or seasonal vibe.
For a neutral look, I spotted boucle pillows with tonal velvet piping for $25. They’re perfect layered on a sofa, chaise, or bed. There was also a pair of velvet bolster pillows for $30, compare that to high-end stores where one would cost you $50–$60.
Throws are another designer staple. I found a natural throw for $30, plus ruched fur throws for $50 that look just like the $200 versions in luxury stores. Colored throws in green or blue are great for seasonal updates, while neutrals always feel timeless.
6. Scallop Edge Home Decor
The scallop-edge trend is everywhere right now, and HomeGoods home decor makes it easy to try without overspending.
I spotted baskets in multiple sizes for under $20, great for storing blankets, pillows, or toys. Scallop details have always been popular in kids’ rooms, but now we’re seeing them styled in adult spaces too.
Other finds included scallop-edge trays in rattan and marble, plus marble paper towel holders, cheese boards, and cake stands. There was even a narrow scallop-edge bookcase for $80 and a scallop-edge ottoman perfect for a vanity setup or coastal-style room.
Just remember, less is more. One or two pieces are all you need to make your home feel current.
7. Affordable Area Rugs
Rugs define your seating area, add comfort, and ground your design. At HomeGoods, I found so many beautiful options that looked like Lulu & Georgia or Arhaus styles.
Most rugs were around $350, but they looked almost identical to versions from Pottery Barn or Lulu & Georgia at double the price. Better yet, HomeGoods carries the same designer brands: Loloi, Jaipur, Nourison, Magnolia, and Safavieh.
They usually stock standard 8×10 or 9×12 sizes, but if you’re near a Homesense, their rug section is next-level with rows of options in every size.
8. Accent Chair
Accent chairs are a great way to make your home feel more polished, and HomeGoods home decor has some amazing deals.
I found a version of the best-selling wood-and-upholstered chair you see in so many designer spaces. High-end versions run about $1,000, but at HomeGoods the look for less was $300.
You’ll often see these styled in pairs, but even one can elevate your space. If you do buy two, place them opposite your sofa for an instant designer look.
9. Console Tables
Console tables are one of the most versatile furniture pieces. HomeGoods had several that looked just like Crate & Barrel or Pottery Barn styles.
We’ve seen these in every showroom, from entryways to behind sofas. At HomeGoods, they’re usually $200–$500, depending on the size. Many even had trend-forward details like caned fronts, fluted curves, and arched shapes.
It’s the perfect way to bring in current design trends on a larger scale without overspending.
10. Living Room Accent Tables
Small accent tables are another must-have for a designer look. HomeGoods had sculptural side tables and chic drink tables you could style alone or in pairs for a layered, high-end feel.
At Arhaus, this look could cost you over $1,000, but at HomeGoods, you could recreate it for under $200. I spotted a marble-and-gold side table for $50 that was nearly identical to Pottery Barn’s $200 version.
West Elm is usually my go-to for affordable drink tables, but HomeGoods had similar options for less. The best find? A brass metal drink table for $50. At Pottery Barn, it’s $150, and at Arhaus, closer to $300.
11. New Holiday Decor
Even though it’s early, I couldn’t resist checking the holiday section, and HomeGoods already has affordable seasonal decor on the shelves.
For 2025, classic red and green will be trending again. I spotted beautiful wood trees that pair perfectly with the organic modern look taking over Instagram.
And if you love those fur and boucle pumpkins from Pottery Barn (selling for $35–$45 on sale), HomeGoods had nearly identical versions for $15. Total look for less.
