Meditation Room Decor
Meditation room decor is great to help you set the vibe for your practice. There are so many types of meditation from visualization, transcendental, guided, yoga, and more!
Personally, I’ve been practicing transcendental meditation (twice a day) which has helped me calm my thoughts and be less reactive. I am able to pause and observe what I’m thinking without saying thoughts out loud.
It’s been super helpful in my relationships because I am a better listener and more compassionate. Essentially I’m able to see another point of view and say, huh that’s interesting without getting defensive.
If you’re new to meditation don’t try it once and say oh I’m not good at this. The reason it’s called a practice is that it’s literally a practice.
Just like you do in yoga keep getting back on your mat every day and try again. The space where you meditate does not have to be fancy and it can change.
As long as you have an area in your home or even outdoors to sit in stillness and quiet your mind it’ll do the trick. To be honest you can just start with a pillow you have in your home and work up to the decor below.
Good things take time so just start and see how it goes. Eventually, you’ll get into a routine that works for you.
This post is all about meditation room decor.
How to decorate a room for meditation?
How you decorate a room for meditation will depend on the other uses for the room. No matter the space it should be clean, quiet, and free of clutter.
If you have a designated space empty it out and give it a fresh coat of paint. The color scheme should be neutral and soothing.
Think white, ivory beige, or even a soft sage green. On the subject of greenery adding plants whether natural or artificial will help you connect to mother earth.
Adding essential oils and calming scents is another way to set the tone in your meditation room. If you only add one thing be sure to get a comfortable meditation pillow that will help you feel grounded and safe.
What color walls for a meditation room?
As mentioned above your meditation room walls should be neutral and tranquil. These include ivory, beige, white, and greige.
Additional colors to consider are pale blue which evokes peace and sage green which is associated with healing, relaxation, and rejuvenation.
Boho Beautiful Meditation
My favorite yogis have a 14-day Meditation practice to help you stay the course. If you’ve never meditated before be patient with yourself and give it time.
It’ll feel weird and maybe a little woo-woo at first but it’ll be a game-changer if you stick with it every day. You will get in tune with your thoughts and creativity. Another benefit is learning to stay in the present moment and just be still.
Try it and let me know how it goes after the 15 days are complete. There’s actually an extra bonus meditation day.
If you’re looking to add a yoga routine to your life join the Boho Beautiful community by clicking the link below. They have monthly calendars that’ll help you stay focused and live your best life.
Even if you can only commit to 15 minutes a day they have effective routines to do. Try it out for an improved mind, body, and spirit connection.

17. Sage Smudge Kit
Smudging is a way of clearing negative energy from your space. Depending on who used the space before and for what you’ll want to clear the air of negative energy. The goal is to welcome only positive energy and good vibes.
Burning sage is one of the oldest and purest methods of cleansing a person, group of people, or space to get rid of unwanted spirits.
You’ll want to do this in your space to set the intentions of your yoga and meditation practice.
Steps to Smudging Your Space
- Clean your space (this helps the sage travel better)
- Turn off all electronics (tv, radio, and you can silence your phone)
- Open a door and or window so the negative energy leaves your home
- Set an intention before you begin
- Light the sage and keep a vessel or small plate underneath
- Start at your front door and walk counter-clockwise around your space
- Start in the lowest part of your home and work your way up
- Fan the smoke using a feather as you move through your space
- Focus on corners as they tend to hold toxic negative energy
- After you are done light a candle and go through your space to bring in positive energy
As you walk through your space you want to ask the negative energy to leave. You can create your own mantra but this is what I like to say:
Any energy that is negative and not of my greatest good get the f@*k out with love, you are not welcome to stay here. Please leave out the open door and window.
Change that up to fit your own needs. It’s meant to give you an idea of what to say.
I learned about smudging about a year ago and did it in our home. We’ve had a lot of visitors through the years so I needed to rid my home of any negative energy.
In the summer, I did it again with the windows and door open to really make sure all that negative energy leaves. I’m willing to try anything these days to bring positive energy into my life.
Except for organized religion so don’t even try coming at me with that!

20. Essential Oil Diffuser
An essential oil diffuser will help create a calm peaceful environment during your practice. It can run for 12 hrs so it’s great for your meditation room, yoga studio, bedroom, or living room.

23. Wicker Plant Basket
This is the perfect basket to hold essentials, and blankets, or to use as the base of your plant. Sometimes during meditation, I like to wrap myself in a blanket and this is perfect to keep it stored when not in use.
As you go on your meditation journey remember to be patient with yourself. Good things take time and the only way to get better is with daily practice.
Try different methods to see which one you like best. Also, there are group meditation practices if you want to try a more guided approach.
I hope this meditation room decor helps you design a space you love!
Have an amazing day full of Unicorns & Rainbows!
