A great way to update your outdoor space is with a new area rug. It can totally transform a dated patio while giving it new life.

It’s also perfect if you tend to go barefoot since it’ll be soft under your feet. For this roundup, I’ve pulled together a collection of neutral outdoor rugs at a variety of price points.

There are stripe, geometric, abstract, and solid textured rugs to choose from. These options are perfect if you want to create a neutral space that’s calm and zen.

Outdoor Patio Rug Ideas

Before we get into the rug resources let me share my current front porch situation. I’m still deciding if I want to replace everything so for now I’m looking at rug options.

Typically, I tend to start projects with the rug or artwork because it’s great to use as a jumping-off point. Unless a rug is solid there are usually multiple colors that can be pulled out to create the color palette.

Clearly, we’ve had this set for a while and it’s not in my preferred style. It’s very traditional and classic which is not at all my vibe these days.

For a quick update, I may get a new rug, cushions, and pillows. Thinking all neutral to contrast the brown furniture which I wish was black.

Since replacing the furniture is most likely NOT happening this year I’m trying to freshen up the area for the least amount of dinero.

I took measurements and for my space, I can do a 2’6″x7′ rug or the 4’x6′. Leaning towards the 2’6″x7′ which would go in front and just under the furniture.

Not every style comes in that size so I’ll let you know which I’m leaning towards in the details below.

If you are trying to work with your existing brown or natural wood furniture this rug is a great choice. It’s available in five sizes and two color combinations.

For me, the closest size to what I need would be the 2.5’x 8′ which can work but is not ideal. I’d prefer the length to be 7′ so that it’s centered in the furniture arrangement.

That is IF I keep the current furniture. If I do a complete makeover this rug is definitely a top contender.
