By now you got the memo that burnt orange couches are back in style. It is part of the 70s inspired trend that is very hot right now.
Along with orange sofas, furniture of the time was upholstered in boucle and corduroy. Teak wood and rattan were also popular materials in the ’70s. Furniture styles of the decade were influenced by the Boho and Disco vibe.
All of which are making a comeback in furniture and home decor.

Living Room With Orange Couch Design Inspiration
In the below image, you can see a visual of the different pieces that have been changed out. The top design features a burnt orange velvet couch from Walmart that is awesome for anyone on a budget.
The color palette is neutral with black and white plus accents of gold. By keeping all the other elements neutral the orange sofa will make a statement in the design.
This design has a mid-century modern vibe with the Eames chair and a super cool coffee table. The gold is introduced in three places to add interest and flow to the concept.
I’m completely obsessed with the modern black and white artwork with the gold across the ladies’ eye. This piece elevates the look and feel of the other home decor.
A few products are missing which are highlighted on the separate inspiration boards. The mid-century modern ceiling light, fur pillow, and black leather pouf work perfectly in either design.
There is a difference in the budget of the designs as well. The top design will cost about 4K which for many is super affordable.
What Colors go with an orange sofa?
Neutral colors go very well with an orange sofa. These include ivory, black, cream, and natural tones. The concepts in this roundup are an example of an orange couch with neutrals.
Another option is to use colors of nature such as brown, green, tan, and rust. For contrast add the complement of orange which is blue. This will add interest and make a statement in your interior design.
Living Room Design Ideas
The bottom half of the above concept is more of an investment. Many of the trendy unique furniture pieces are more of a splurge. The approximate cost of this design would be about 11K.
A big difference I know!
Part of the higher cost is the quality of the furniture and retailers used. The orange leather sofa is about double the cost of the velvet one. It’s still an affordable sofa when it comes to leather couches which can be pricey.
The area rug is from the new Amber Lewis x Loloi collection which is fabulous but not cheap! Plan to invest as much as $3500 depending on the size you need.
Other splurges include the unique accent chair and coffee table. Both are great for adding personality and style to your interior design.
These pieces are sure to be a conversation starter as you entertain through the holiday season.

3. Wood Glass Coffee Table

It was inspired by the dramatic shapes of Brazilian mid-century designs. The bottom angular shelf is great for displaying your favorite books or magazines.
If you’re looking for a modern coffee table that is built to last this contract-grade coffee table is for you!
4. Eames Chair and Ottoman
In the orange sofa roundup, you may have noticed the Eames chair and ottoman in the design concept. Here is a reminder in case you forgot.
You can just see the back of this popular chair which is why I decided to highlight it in this design. The mid-century modern chair is an iconic design that will make a statement in any space it’s in.
You can find this chair at a variety of price points from high to low but this one from Wayfair is more affordable.
At just under $900 this chair features top grain leather and high-density laminated wood. The unique design is great for relaxing in the human-engineered shape.
Guests will be so comfortable in this modern accent chair that they won’t want to leave!

By keeping the rug neutral the star of the show will be your orange velvet sofa.
7. Black And White Artwork
Artwork is a great way to add mood and drama to your interior design. Z Gallerie carries a lot of Leftbank artwork which is one of my favorite vendors.
Add a bold glamorous femme statement to your living room with this artwork. The unexpected gold accent creates a dramatic vibe that will have your guests intrigued.
It’s made of high-quality giclee print on canvas with hand-applied gold accents in a black floater frame. At the time of this post, it’s on sale for a great price so be sure to check it out!
8. Peruvian Wall Mirrors
Each one of these trendy mirrors is sold separately. They’ll add a boho glam vibe to your space depending on the application.
Add them in a set of three or five to make a statement in your living space. I’m obsessed with the super cool eye mirror!
9. Fur Pillow Cover
The next three home decor resources are great for either design concept. Add a pair of faux fur chinchilla pillow covers and throw to add texture and warmth to your space.
They are a great contrast to the orange sofa and are sure to make a statement. You can never have too many throws in my opinion so make sure you go for the set times two!
10. Black Leather Pouf
When I did the budget for the two designs I only counted one black leather pouf. You can add two if you have the space.
I have pouf in both my neutral living room and glam sitting room designs because they are great for extra seating. You can also put your feet up on one after a long day of work.
At just over $200 this affordable pouf is well worth the investment.
11. Black Mid-Century Ceiling Light
This lighting is inspired by the iconic three-armed lamp of the late 1950s by French designer Mouille. It features a black iron with rotating shades for customized light options.
Create a focal point in your interior design with the addition of this cool modern ceiling light. It’s great no matter which concept board you choose.
Design 2: Living Room With Orange Leather Couch

If you have small children or pets this may be a better choice for your lifestyle. No matter the reason this design is equally inspiring.
It’s more of an investment but you can mix and match pieces from either design to create a look unique to you!
12. Orange Leather Couch
Let me say it again… If you are more of a leather chic this sofa is for you! It has a similar design to the Walmart style but in leather. This sofa is perfect when you entertain a lot or have small children.
Leather sofas tend to be easier to clean and get more beautiful as they age. This orange leather couch is double the price of the Walmart sofa so itโs more of an investment.
The mid-century modern style, retro leather, and streamlined silhouette are sure to level up your living space. I love the tailored back cushions, thin track arms, and round tapered legs.
This will make a stunning addition to your interior design.
13. Wood Tiered Side Table
Add a pair of side tables to create a symmetrical balance in your interior design. This table is made of oak veneer in a warm medium stain with a cerused finish.

I would say add a pair to make a statement but not everyone has it like that.
Just adding one will add personality and set you apart from what everyone else has in their home. Let’s strive to be the unicorn in the field of horses, my friends!
16. Black Hourglass Table
This stylish accent table would look amazing next to the Flag Halyard Chair. It has a sleek hourglass silhouette that is great for modern and classic homes alike.
The charcoal accent table is made of hardwood with variations in the natural wood texture making each piece unique.
17. Amber Lewis x Loloi Geometric Area Rug
If you want a modern rug that will last for many years to come and don’t mind the investment this is for you!
