Amazon Airbnb Super Host Checklist

A great way to start making passive income is by renting a spare room in your home on Airbnb. If you have a condo with several rooms that’s even better. Now when I say passive income we all know that doesn’t exist.

When people say passive income they really mean you can make money while you sleep. With an Airbnb, you will EVENTUALLY make money while you sleep but first, you have to do the work. Like most passive revenue streams first, you put the work in, and then the income follows.

That has been my experience anyway. If you’ve been following along you may have seen the Airbnb Dominican Republic Design (Santiago De Los Caballeros). The condo design was done using Ikea furniture due to timing.

Amazon Airbnb Bedroom Checklist

First up we have the two-bedroom options. They’re similar in that the color scheme is neutral, and the bed, bedding, and drapes are all the same. The first design is black, white, and grey. In the second design, gold is mixed in as well.

The beauty of a neutral base color scheme is you can later introduce any pop color you’d like to change up.

Amazon Airbnb Bedroom Inspiration

These are the two-bedroom spaces in the Dominican Republic apartment. Both are neutral and follow a similar formula but have different accents and accessories.

Keeping the look consistent helps to create a brand that is appealing to a wider audience. When you use bold colors or a specific theme some travelers may be turned off.

The best way to attract travelers is with a clean, simple, and well-balanced space. It should feel sophisticated and luxurious.

Creating this look does not have to cost a fortune. Remember the space will be used for a short amount of time so there will be less wear and tear than in the average long-term home.

Both these spaces were created with Ikea furniture but the same look can be achieved from Amazon. See below for the resources to recreate a similar look in your home or Airbnb.

The above design is the perfect backdrop for quickly starting your Airbnb bedroom. Working with black, white, and grey is awesome for creating a bold design that makes a statement.

It’s clean sophisticated and non-personal. When it comes to designing an Airbnb space we want it to be simple and clutter-free. We also want it to appeal to the masses which using a neutral palette will do.

Another thing to point out is a desk space is appealing to those who still work from home. The Big C created an entirely acceptable trend of working remotely that’s most likely here to stay awhile.

That said many people are traveling but still need to get their work done. Having a designated desk area in one of the bedrooms or living spaces is a bonus amenity.

Bedroom Design 2

The second design features a pop of gold. In the Santiago, DR condo there are two bedrooms which was a lot to have to put together. To make the process easier both spaces are the same but different. I love gold which adds sophistication and an elevated look.

If gold is not your jam change it out for silver or mix your metal for even more interest.

Above is a side-by-side of the two spaces so you have an idea of the difference. With either of these designs, you can add pillows and accessories in any color like navy, aqua, pink and more!

Pops of color are fabulous for adding personality but easy to change when you get bored of the look.

Living Room Inspiration

The Airbnb living room design features a similar color palette that keeps the look consistent throughout the space. There is a grey chaise sofa great for lounging and watching TV.

Artwork that is contemporary but not personalized makes a statement in the living room design. The center coffee table has mixed materials for interest and a focal point.

The accent chair and side table create a moment in the space that is perfect for conversations. The mix of gold and silver throughout highlights the mixed metals trend and adds flow to the living space.

For extra seating, the lightweight grey poufs can be moved around the space as needed. Lastly, the TV console is the perfect storage solution so the space is kept clutter-free.

Again this living room design features the same neutral color scheme that will be appealing to the masses. If you have the space for a chaise sectional it’s a great option because they are super comfy and stylish.

Dining Room Inspiration

If you have a dining room space consider following the same formula. Keep the palette neutral but add mixed metals for interest and personality.

The artwork in this dining room was perfect because not only were the colors great but it created movement and flow with the abstract circles. It also ties back to the artwork in the living room for a cohesive balanced look.

Since the table is white I do recommend getting a piece of glass cut to size to protect it. We’ll be adding that to the dining table in the Dominican Republic Airbnb.

The chairs are upholstered in a durable grey material but faux leather would work as well. That way you can just wipe them clean.

That pretty much covers the furniture you’ll need if you have a full apartment. Depending on your space you may not need every single item but this will give you a good place to start.
