Look 1: Modern Traditional Master Bedroom Design

Let’s kick things off with the Modern Traditional style—a timeless look with rich textures, earthy tones, and black accents that ground the space.

The Rug

This multicolor oriental-style rug sets the tone. It’s a classic starting point that gives you a built-in color palette. I used the Amber Lewis for Loloi rug—super affordable and designer-approved.

Traditional Furniture & Decor

Traditional design often includes darker wood and black accents. I added a pair of black nightstands from Walmart—$308 for the set. They’re 29 inches tall, which works well if your bed has a box spring.

Just make sure your nightstand is even with or slightly below the top of your mattress.

The Art

The landscape Studio McGee’s art piece is stunning—but costs over $900. I found a similar Amazon version for about $170.

I originally chose that, but ended up using an abstract floral instead to create more variety between the three room styles.

The Seating Moment

For the seating moment, I added two light brown velvet swivel chairs from the Studio McGee line at Target. They pull the brown tones from the rug and art, and they’re just $400 each. You can place them at the foot of the bed—or tuck one into a cozy reading corner.

Between them, I added a black metal drink table from West Elm—just $130 and super versatile with a traditional-meets-modern feel.

Lighting & Bedding

I used a pair of Studio McGee table lamps from Target—$80 each. They’re a look-for-less version of the designer lamp from the original inspiration… literally a self-knockoff!

For overhead lighting, I chose a black and gold chandelier with mini shades—another classic traditional touch. It’s under $700 and totally elevates the space.

For bedding, I went with neutral tones and added maroon pillows to minick to the original bedroom design.

The Curtains

I used the same curtains from last week’s contemporary design but in the taupe colorway which look beautiful with the traditional design.

Total Cost: $4,333

Compared to the original version at $5,074, this saves you over $700 with zero sacrifice on style.

Look 2: Modern Glam Master Bedroom

This next one is for my girly girls, glam lovers, and fashionistas—but let’s be real, it may not be the best choice for a shared bedroom unless your partner is super in touch with his feminine side.

Think creamy whites, pops of pink, touches of gold, and luxe finishes throughout.

The Rug

The TOV inspiration used an 8×10 rug, but I found a washable 9×12 pink, ivory, and yellow option from Walmart for just $130.

Pro Tip: Add a thicker rug pad underneath for that plush, cozy feel.

Modern Glam Furniture & Decor

White and gold furniture is a classic modern glam detail. The TOV nightstands in this design are $429 each which Yes, is a bit of a splurge—but don’t worry, we’re saving in other spots.

They’re shorter than the black ones from the last look—22” high—so be sure to check your bed height before buying.

The Art

The statement piece here is a black and white Chanel-inspired print from Oliver Gal—$875 and worth every penny if you’re into high fashion.

This one is 45” wide, which works because ideally your art should be 50–70% the width of your bed.

Seating & Details

Bouclé swivel chairs with rouching and tassels = instant glam. Paired with a pink and gold drink table and a bubble chandelier, the vibe is feminine and fresh.

Kelly Wearstler-inspired lamps from Amazon finish the nightstands perfectly—just about $100 each.

Bedding & Curtains

For the bedding I updated the look with chenille floppy pillows from TOV that cost $36 each and added a black and white lumbar with tassels for $58.

Ivory curtains complete the clean, elegant look.

Still budget-friendly, and worth the extra couple hundred for all this glam goodness.

Look 3: Organic Modern Bedroom Design

This one’s for my nature lovers—the ones who want their bedroom to feel calm, curated, and connected to the outdoors. It has that relaxed California eclectic vibe with curved lines, earthy textures, and a palette straight from nature: greens, browns, taupes, and ivory.

The Rug

This striped earthy rug from Walmart pulls together greens, browns, and taupes for just $325. It sets the perfect foundation for that Cali-cool look.

Organic Modern Furniture & Decor

Whitewashed oak is a staple in organic modern design, and these nightstands from TOV bring that vibe. They’re $499 each, with soft-close drawers and open shelving for books and essentials.

The Art

A serene green landscape print from Wayfair—30×60″ for only $180. The natural wood frame ties back to the nightstands and warms up the wall.

Seating & Side Table

Green velvet bouclé swivel chairs from Walmart at $248 each? Yes please. Paired with a sculptural wood table ($319), this little moment feels like a page out of a Lulu & Georgia catalog.

Lighting & Textures

A jute chandelier with soft curves ($398) and a cream sculptural table lamp with a pleated shade ($169) bring in natural texture and trendy shapes. I kept bedding neutral and added textured pillow covers for depth.

Total Cost: $4,520

Relaxed, elevated, and over $500 less than the luxe-for-less version from last week.
