Not all college spaces have a separate bathroom but my daughter and her roommate share their own space. It even has a washer and dryer!

When it comes to the bathroom design there is a limited amount of updates you can make especially on a tight budget. In the case of this bathroom design, the decor and artwork were updated to freshen up the look.

The color palette was kept the same black and white as the bedroom design for consistency. This was a super quick and effective bathroom update that can be done in a day!

Affordable College Apartment Bathroom Ideas

Fortunately, the bones of the Hawaii college apartment bathroom were already white so we had a good starting point. Adding in the black contrast color helped to make a statement.

The things we updated in this bathroom makeover were the following:

• Shower Curtain

• Curtain Rings

• Bathmat
• Toilet Paper Holder
• Toilet Bowl Cleaner
• Over The Door Hook

We worked with the existing shower curtain rod but that is essential if your space doesn’t have one.

Bathroom Artwork

The above artwork was originally meant to go over the bed but it was way too small. Messed that one up!

In the end, it worked out great because we needed artwork for the bathroom too and it worked perfectly. All the college apartment artwork was hung using the command strips which were super easy to install.

Shower Decor

The “get naked” shower curtain is the star of the show in this bathroom design for sure. The curtain rod was already in the space but you can get a black one if you need one for your bathroom makeover.

For the hooks, we just went with the simple silver classic style. I like the shower hooks that close completely so the curtain and liner stay put. It’s so annoying when the shower curtain falls off the hooks.

Bathroom Towels & Mat

On the towel bar, we added black towels with a decorative border towel in the center. It contrasted nicely with the white wall and created a focal point that tied back to the artwork and shower curtain.

The black bathmat is nice and large which is perfect for wiping your feet when you get out of the shower. A black hand towel was also added to the towel ring that is attached to the cabinet next to the sink.

College Bathroom Accessories

Every bathroom makeover needs a toilet bowl cleaner because there is nothing worse than a stained bowl. I recently learned you can remove the yellow stain will a pumice stone. Who knew!

An over-the-door towel rack is perfect for holding your bathrobe and wet towels. The soap dispenser in black and white matched the decor perfectly. We also added a marble dish to hold a bar of soap as well.

Overall the bathroom turned out great and was done on a tight budget. If you are looking to make a statement in your college dorm or apartment copy this design! I promise it is meant to impress.
