Living Room Ideas
So you are ready to makeover your Living Room and you are looking for ideas.
Awesome news and soooo exciting!
One of my favorite furniture go-to’s is Serena & Lily.
They have a clear mission statement which is:
At Serena & Lily, we combine our love of breezy California style with our passion for great design. Our look is casual and coastal, relaxed yet refined. Our designs blend classic influences with modern lines; eclectic inspiration with great American style. We love spaces that feel put together, yet livable – well-traveled with a personal point of view. We believe home should be a welcome oasis – your favorite place to retreat, to gather, to live well every day.
I also just love their casual California vibe.
One of the best ways to get started in your design makeover is to have a clear vision of your “look and feel. Once you have an idea of this you will want to pull no more than three Pinterest images that will be your main source of inspiration.
Anything more will make you overwhelmed and not focused. It’s ok to have other ideas but the overall look should come from your three main sources of inspiration.
After that, it’s time to measure and create your floor plan. Grab the handy download to get started today.
Once you have all your measurements it is time to source products. Luckily today we have already done that part for you! This awesome design is perfect to use as a jumping-off point or as is.
Either way, pull a few pieces or the entire look it’s totally up to you. Remember design should be a fun and enjoyable process not overwhelming.

The Design
This design was definitely inspired by the California Beach vibe. The light color palette with the blue accents is perfect if you are after a calming zen-like space.
Pro Tip: Keep your main pieces neutral and add pops of color in the accent pieces.
The sofa is a performance fabric so no need to worry about staining. This 100% solution-dyed acrylic fabric will resist all manner of wear and tear – staining, mold, and UV radiation.

Below are more details of the products shown above direct from Serena & Lily.
1. Hayden Sofa with Bench Seat – Slipcovered
This luxurious performance fabric has a thick weave for great texture and a casual look. Woven from 100% solution dyed acrylic, it will resist all manner of wear and tear – staining, mold, and UV radiation.
2. Venice Rattan Chair – Natural
It’s casual, it’s coastal, it’s unexpected…With its good looks and excellent craftsmanship, this is everything we love in a chair.
The rattan frame – steamed and bent into shape by hand – is accented with hand-wrapped rattan peel around the joints and can be used with or without a cushion.
A low-seat profile completes the relaxed vibe.
3. Venice Rattan Chair Cushion
The simplicity of natural rattan is made even more fabulous with the addition of a comfy cushion.
Ours provides ample padding for lounging, but we kept the profile slim enough to keep the look clean.
4. Porter Denim & Suede Rug
Beautiful pieces of recycled denim are woven with leather in a subtle herringbone pattern. The result: A striking design in tonal blues, created entirely by hand.
Due to the variance in denim, no two pieces will look quite alike. Finished with cotton binding on either end.
5. Truro Coffee Table
A natural accent is a great way to lighten up a room. Ours brings a coastal touch, too, with a clamshell veneer top that’s as smooth as polished stone.
The base is made of durable resin with a hand-applied finish.
6. Bar Harbor Martini Table
Blue and white is a pitch-perfect palette we’ll always love. We took that color play and paired it with the ancient art of inlay for this chic table.
Slender striping in bone tile gives the kind of sophisticated detailing and handcrafted pattern pop that shines.
7. Amagansett Side Table
A sculptural base gives this piece a unique presence. Made of weather-friendly resin, it’s a breeze to move from the lawn to the living room (and looks right at home in either setting).
8. Del Sol Baskets (Set of 8)
Handwoven in South Africa, these baskets feature a versatile palette of tan, white, and gold. We love the gorgeous mix of texture, pattern, and artistry.
Perfect as an eclectic wall accent for a living room or a bold statement in the foyer.
9. Hyde Park Table Lamp
We designed this piece with duality in mind. Glass-meets-brass lends a traditional note while the straight, simple silhouette says modern.
The light and airy glass body contradicts the substantial double-tier brass base.
10. Moroccan Pouf
Great as a footstool or extra seating, our compact poufs are at home in any room of the house. Handmade by artisans in Morocco, each is unique, with individual pieces of fabric stitched together and meticulously embroidered by hand.
The poufs are filled with dense cotton – a time-intensive technique that creates a perfect shape that lasts for years to come.
11. Camille Diamond Medallion Pillow Cover
A nod to traditional Hmong fabrics, we’ve applied our own intricate designs on slubby cotton, opting for a simple palette to give things a modern edge.
Screen printing recalls the look of a good batik, creating variations that make each handcrafted pillow truly unique. Try this as a stand-alone statement piece or as part of your very own pattern mix.
12. Salerno Pillow Cover
When in doubt, triple the pom-poms. This pillow has all the weather-resistant benefits you need, and all the eye-catching style you crave.
The fact that it’s spun to look and feel like natural raffia makes it all the better. A herringbone weave adds classic detailing and plays up the texture.
13. Ashby Pillow Cover
A nod to the classic windowpane motif but with added texture, thanks to detailed embroidery on pleasantly soft, yarn-dyed cotton.
Plush corner tassels add a luxurious finishing touch. Mix and match with other patterns for extra style points.
14. Capiz Honeycomb Chandelier
Always looking for opportunities to add texture and dimension to a room, we fell in love with this chandelier. The round shape brings a touch of the ethereal, with gold tones that add a little extra lustre.
And the capiz shells themselves are the perfect natural diffuser, illuminating your space with a soft, warm glow.
15. Swansea Paperweave Wallcovering
Organic and refined, we love the way this collection wakes up the walls. Crafted of paper and a bit of cotton, this wallcovering brings instant texture and warmth to any space.
Each color retains a subtle stripe that originates in the weave itself, plus natural highs and lows for plenty of depth. When mounted, the seams between panels of paperweave will be visible, adding even more texture to the design.
16. Scalloped Capiz Hurricane – Small Pillar
Always looking for opportunities to bring texture and dimension into a room, we fell in love with this beautiful design. The round shape brings a touch of the ethereal, with gold tones that add a little extra lustre.
And the capiz shells themselves are the perfect natural diffuser, illuminating your space with a soft, warm glow.
17. Scalloped Capiz Hurricane – Large Pillar
So many awesome living room ideas right?!
