Every year my dad’s side of the family comes to our house on Christmas day.

Family members usually bring a dish and then I make a few as well.

Some of my favorites are here and a few I would love to try making one day.

I would NEVER call myself Martha Stewart in the kitchen.

In fact, I had a sign hanging for years that said: “Martha Stewart Doesn’t Live Here”.

Don’t get me wrong I can cook a FEW really yummy meals but I would say cooking is my superpower.

That said check out all my favorite holiday recipes.

Appetizer

My cousin Claudia makes this every year for Christmas and it is delicious!

Personally, I like to eat it with thin pretzels or carrots but others like it with bread.

Bread is not really my thing so I never go with that option.

I probably eat half of what she brings all by myself lol.

I recently had a similar version at a friends BBQ and it was to die for!

Every year at Christmas I make a salad and have learned that if the dressing is mixed in the salad will go.

If the dressing is on the side it won’t.

Usually, I make a classic salad with balsamic vinegar and Good Seasons Italian dressing but this would be a good one to try for a change.

This is another one on the list of recipes to make.

This is another one I’d LOVE to make.

I really enjoy scallops but have yet to master cooking them at home.

Last time I tried I wanted to sear the scallops but then my son who is an amazing cook informed me I needed a searing pan.

Who Knew!

Clearly not me lol.

Every Christmas my Uncle Ralphy and his family come from NJ.

LATE.

That is all I will say.

So last year they arrived at 11 pm and it was weird because usually, Yolanda brings a ton of food AFTER we are done with dessert.

After a few minutes, we realized they came in to make sure everyone was still there before they brought in ALL the food from the car.

Yolanda is an AMAZING cook and NEVER disappoints!

She brings Pastelon, Pernil, Arroz con Ganzules, Macaroni Salad, and this year Shrimp Scampi which tasted amazing.

All from NJ!

Every year we tell Yolanda to forget the food and just come earlier because we have plenty of food already.

We try but that is yet to happen.

Either way, we love having them and are super grateful for the BEST FOOD EVER each Christmas night.

I have never made Paella because it just looks like a lot of work and I’m SCARED.

I’m also pretty sure my rice would come out sticky which I hate.

That said we usually order this and have even picked it up on Christmas Day before.

This is a recipe I love making and it tastes so good.

My whole family likes it although my daughter complains if I make it too often.

It’s easy to make but you cook it for about 2-3 hours so the meat falls apart.

I’m thinking of adding this one to the Christmas Day Eve menu this year.

My family has come to expect it from me but it is so much work.

This is the version of Lasagna I make.

It tastes really good and feeds a lot.

The only thing I have found over the years is it takes a really long time to heat up if you have it in the fridge before your guests arrive.

Keep that in mind especially if you are heating multiple dishes in the oven at the same time.

They are amazing and she makes me my own tin which I have to hide from my daughter who would eat them all.

I have no idea what her recipe is but this one looks just as pretty.

Don’t forget to display these on a pretty dish if you make them.

We all know I LOVE my Unicorns & Rainbows so it’s only fitting these are my favorite cookies!
